For the opening of these pictures at Jernigan Wicker Gallery, I hired a tango band. They played at the base of stairs to the exhibition. Tangeros who'd come to look at the pictures never made it up those stairs. And the lucky art viewers walked through dancers in action before they saw my take on the community in San Francisco.
