Seizures

Though they didn’t know one another, I brought Juliette and Walter together to photograph them because they were both in a tense state as they tried to get control over their brains.

A psychiatrist had put Juliette on the anti-anxiety Clonazepam, but to stop taking it she needed anti-seizure medication which caused her to hallucinate. She has spent a year curled up in a dark room but she is beginning to come out of her shell. Walter has recently had a chip implanted in his brain to regulate seizures. Though it is a new procedure, the danger frightened him less than having parts of his brain cut away.
